  • Last night after the NHS induction ceremony, Rory and I wanted to go see a movie.  We get there, and it is pouring rain.  We run for it.  I was running with my heels and dress on, while he was running with his slacks & dress shirt.  We get to the box office, and realize that I Am Legend was sold out - everything else would be too late.

We wait, watching the pouring rain... others watching us and wondering why we're all dressed up, why we're soaked... but most importantly what made us laugh as much as we did.

Instead, we decide to go to Starbucks.  Because we are both freezing to death, we make sure to get something nice and hot to warm us both.  Gingerbread lattes:  reminds me of Christmas.

We sat at one of the tables (that has a checkers board built in) and we played.  I haven't played checkers in many years.. at first I forgot the basics.

I laughed at the fact about how priceless the moment was.  I smiled because I was radiant with joy.

As people still wondered why we were dressed up, and soaked, and laughing, and playing checkers, and drinking warm lattes, and truly enjoying each other's presence...  I realized.

This is a memory that I have for myself & no one can take away from me.

This is truly what life is made of.

    Love,

    Kimmy
